Is ‘Game of Thrones: Battle of Winterfell’ the Most Shocking Episode in TV History?
After a long night of heart-pounding, terrifying yet
hopeful event, there’s a stoic silence in the Game of Thrones universe. The Battle
of Winterfell, which was supposedly touted to be an unwinnable battle for
the living against the super-powerful god of death, is now over. The scariest
monster in Game of Thrones, Night King vs. the combined forces of living
seemed frightening. The night seemed long for everyone. The Battle of Winterfell is surely the most
intense episode of the entire series.
Shock, twist, suspense, horror, politics, and surprise are
some of the main elements of Game of
Thrones. The fan base for this series spreads worldwide. The characters in
this series successfully established a deep connection with its fan base and
after years of survival, the main protagonists are now exposed against an army,
which is far stronger and unkillable. This is the moment of anxiety for the
characters as well the viewers and nobody wanted to see their favorite
characters die. Hope stood no chance hence the night seemed long and hard.
After a long night of pounding heartbeats, fear and hope, the Battle of Winterfell delivers. One of the most dramatic episodes of the series, #GameofThrones S8E3 was a STUNNER, Dark as Hell, #GoT kept its promise as it went full throttle after a slow start. pic.twitter.com/Ej5MppLzMK— Pallav Gogoi (@pallav_) April 29, 2019
The tension build-up before the battle was
extraordinarily realistic. The audience could feel the heartbeats of each
character and there’s no such TV series on Earth which particularly attained
this type of feat. From facing the debauched enemy with courage to implementing
surprising human and magical tricks, the Battle
of Winterfell had every ingredient to surprise and astonish its audience.
The episode was dark as hell, both technically and metaphorically yet it felt
hyper-real and tight. There are a few highlight moments in this episode that
will blow your mind. From the dramatic ignition of Dothraki arakhs by Melisandre
of Asshai to the never seen before dragon chase scenes, from the unharmed Night King scene after the dragon fire to the final kill by Arya Stark, Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 3 was a stunner.
After the epic battle, the viewers are now intrigued and
apprehensive at the same time. What’s next after the nasty bloodbath is the
question? Will Game of Thrones
surprise us again? Will there be another night of fright and suspense? Is this
the end of terror? Only time will tell.
